We are proud of our pledge to provide opportunities to those historically neglected and abused away from achieving their highest potential.

Inclusion

Here at PWE our approach to diversity is simple: it’s about embracing everyone. From cultivating a culture where all employees can bring their best selves to work to deploying diversity initiatives that support all, we’re doing what it takes to build a more equitable workplace and world. We believe that when people feel respected and included they can be more creative, innovative, and successful. While we have more work to do to advance diversity and inclusion, we’re investing to move our company and industry forward. Our commitment to equity and inclusion across race, gender, age, religion, identity, and experience drives us forward every day. Ensuring that we are always recruiting, retaining and promoting a diverse mix of colleagues who are representative of the diversity in our local communities gives us a great opportunity to have access to a broad range of ideas and allows us to give you the wide mix of services you know and will come to expect from PWE.

Philanthropic ventures we give to… won’t you?

  • President Barack Obama launched the My Brother’s Keeper initiative in February 2014, to address opportunity gaps for Black and non-Black youth of color. The My Brother’s Keeper Alliance (MBK Alliance) followed in 2015, and it “focuses on building safe and supportive communities for boys and young men of color where they feel valued and have clear pathways to opportunity.” MBK Alliance became an initiative of the Obama Foundation in 2017, and it provides mentorship programs, partners with national impact communities, and advocates for equality in education for young Black men and non-Black youth of color. You can donate to the cause here.

  • Colin Kaepernick's Know Your Rights Camp works to educate Black and non-Black youth of color on their rights, as well as providing legal resources for those who can't afford them. Kaepernick announced the expansion of Know Your Rights Camp, which expanded the organization's legal defense initiative on a national level. The funds go toward assisting the important civil rights education for Black and brown LGBTQ+ youth and communities. To donate, click here.

  • The National Women’s Law Center uses strategic litigation to challenge harmful gender inequalities in the courts and civil society, and pushes for policy changes that protect and empower women, especially in schools and the workplace. They also provide research and policy recommendations on intersectional gender inequalities impacting women in schools. Please Donate here

  • Equality Now was founded in 1992 by three female lawyers and women’s rights activists, Jessica Neuwirth, Navanethem Pillay, and Feryal Gharahi. Together, they worked to highlight specific cases of gender discrimination and violence across the globe by increasing awareness and funding on women’s issues. By 1993, the newly-formed organization gained support from the United Nations and the founders established their key areas of focus, including harmful and violent practices against women, and legal equality. Equality Now works to achieve legal equality for women and girls through legislation changes, and end sexual violence via policy shifts and advocacy. The organization also provides research and tools to empower vulnerable women, combat sex trafficking, and raise awareness on other harmful practices that negatively affect women. • The Point Foundation firmly believes that education is empowerment. That’s why they’re the largest scholarship-granting nonprofit for deserving LGBTQ+ students studying in the United States (for real: they’re supporting 552 students this year!). Their work is crucial, as nearly one-third of LGBTQ+ high-school students end up dropping out as a result of the harassment and isolation they face. Donations to the Point Foundation help support three types of scholarships: Flagship Scholarships (helping LGBTQ+ students pursue undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees), BIPOC Scholarships (supporting BIPOC students), and Community College Scholarships (helping LGBTQ+ students pursue community college degrees). In addition to scholarships, the Point Foundation also matches students with mentors, as well as providing internship opportunities, leadership development training, and a network to fall back on. • The American Civil Liberties Union, aka the ACLU, steps in to make sure that all people—no matter who they are or who they love—are given the rights and liberties they are guaranteed under the law (which are legit under attack as you read, so this work is even more important). That means they work in the courts and legislatures to uphold the Constitution, filing court cases when they see injustices and working with law and policymakers to make things right. One of their biggest fights is for LGBTQ+ equality, and donations help enable litigation, lobbying, and education. Please Donate Here
